Tucked away on the peaceful mountain peaks of Lama in Bandarban, Ononno Resorts began as more than just a business—it was a heartfelt vision. The idea came from Dr. Noor Mohammad, a respected physician and community leader with decades of experience in critical care, anesthesia, family medicine, and global health. With a background that includes serving as a United Nations physician and working in major hospitals like United Hospital Dhaka and BIRDEM, Dr. Noor brought not only knowledge but compassion to the project. He dreamed of creating a place that blended natural beauty with cultural depth—a resort that would empower the local community, promote sustainable tourism, and preserve the harmony of the hills. Building on steep terrain with minimal disruption to the land was no easy task. Every cottage stands on stilts, the trees remain untouched, and native plants now flourish throughout the grounds. A man-made lake collects rainwater, blending utility with aesthetics. Despite challenges in transportation, staffing, and communication, Ononno Resorts stands today as a sanctuary—rooted in purpose, shaped by nature, and driven by a desire to give back. Here, peace is not only found in the views—but in the values behind them.
